Printer Transition Plan
Overview of the New Plan
To better support staff and promote a more efficient, sustainable approach to printing, the District is implementing a new printer placement strategy starting this school year. This plan is designed with direct input from site leadership and with strong consideration for staff workflows and preferences.
Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, the District will install District-provided color printers in key centralized locations across each campus by August 14th. These printers will be maintained and supported by the Chip team, ensuring higher reliability, consistent toner supply, and reduced operational costs over time.
Transition Period:
2025–2026 School Year
We recognize that every classroom and team has unique printing needs. For this reason, the District is implementing a full year of transition and adjustment:
All current classroom printers will remain in place during the 2025–2026 school year.
Teachers and staff will have time to become familiar with the new centralized printer locations.
Technology Services will actively collect feedback on placement and accessibility.
Adjustments to locations or printer quantities will be made as needed, in collaboration with each site's leadership team.
Classroom Printer Phase-Out: Summer 2026
At the end of the transition year (Summer 2026), all individual classroom printers will be removed. This step supports long-term cost savings, reduces environmental impact, and helps us streamline technical support across campuses.
Supporting Staff and Prioritizing Feedback
The success of this transition depends on listening to and acting on staff input. Our goal is not only to improve printing efficiency but also to ensure staff feel supported, heard, and valued throughout the process.
